Atlanta rapper 6 Dogs reportedly died by suicide on Tuesday (January 26) at just 21 years old. 6 Dogs — born Chase Amick — rose to prominence through building a strong underground following on SoundCloud with infectious tracks such as “Faygo Dreams” and “Flossing.”

6 Dogs worked with a neophyte Cole Bennett in 2018 who directed his “Buttcheeks” video. Bennett paid tribute to the rapper after news of his death broke.

“Rest in Peace to a beautiful human,” he wrote to social media.

An outpouring of support from collaborators and friends of 6 Dogs poured in across Hip Hop from artists such as $NOT, Nessly, Lil Aaron and Yung Gravy.

“RIP Chase :’( inspired me in so many ways and helped me grow as an artist and a person,” Gravy penned in mourning.

For those unfamiliar, 6 Dogs artistry drove in the emo-rap lane while leaving his imperfections on display for those to relate to in the mold similar to that of Juice WRLD. 6 Dogs grew up in the Atlanta suburbs in a strict and religious household. He detailed his Christian upbringing in a 2017 interview with The Masked Gorilla.

“I just started late,” he explained. “My parents started me late. My super Christian parents, and all their friends, are super religious and stuff, and I love my childhood but we had this homeschooling group or whatever. I loved them, it was so fun we would just do stuff in the woods, make forts, like legos and stuff like that. I love my childhood, I’m glad I wasn’t just watching TV and stuff like that. I was reading books and doing stuff which contributed to my creativity.”
