Dhani Harrison and Nigel Godrich have officially announced the formation of their new musical project, Dragonflies. The partnership brings together two of the most respected figures in modern music, blending Harrison’s multifaceted songwriting prowess with the sonic innovation of one of the industry’s most revered producers.

The collaboration is rooted in a long-standing friendship. During a period of creative stagnation during lockdown, Harrison reached out to Godrich for guidance. What began as a series of casual conversations soon evolved into a deeply organic creative partnership. Reflecting on the experience, Harrison describes his collaborator as a “machine” with a singular vision, noting that the process has been both humbling and transformative for his own artistic journey.

Godrich, whose legendary production work spans iconic records for Radiohead, Beck, and IDLES, as well as his own projects like Atoms for Peace and Ultraísta, characterizes the duo’s workflow as a fluid, intuitive exchange. “It’s like one person throwing something in the air and the other person catching it,” Godrich explains of their collaborative dynamic.

The duo is set to release their self-titled debut album, Dragonflies, on September 18th via Dark Horse Records. Fans have already received a first taste of the project with the release of their immersive new single, ‘Slower,’ which arrives accompanied by striking visuals crafted by Bristol-based artist Ruffmercy.

As the anticipation builds for their full-length debut, Dragonflies stands as a testament to the power of creative connection and the evolution of two seasoned artists pushing into new, uncharted territory.
