Doja Cat made headlines recently when she announced she would be quitting music following what she believed was a lackluster performance at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 24. She had canceled her set at Asunciónico 2022 and got fans worked up over the whole ordeal, which caused Doja to reveal she was retiring from music altogether.
The Planet Her rapper apologized to her devoted fanbase, but she’s not changing her mind regarding early retirement. Florida radio station MIX 105.1 hopped on Twitter on Monday (March 28) to share an article on Doja’s apology saying, “Ok so maybe @DojaCat isn’t retiring.”
Doja saw the tweet and decided to chime in and reiterate she was 100 percent sure of hanging her microphone up.
“Yes the fuck I am,” Doja said regarding the radio station’s tweet.

The rapper has been struggling with the demands of the industry and seemed to be really giving up on her career in her tweets on Thursday. One South American fan asked Doja what happened to her “humility,” to which Doja clapped back and said she didn’t care anymore.
“I don’t give a fuck anymore,” she wrote Thursday night. “I fuckin quit. I can’t wait to fucking disappear and I don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me; music is dead, and I’m a fucking fool for ever thinking I was made for this. This is a fucking nightmare. Unfollow me.”
Fortunately, Doja realized the distress she put on her fans and issued her apology on Saturday (March 26), calling for forgiveness and understanding she’s in a great place in her life thanks to her fans and music career.
“I can travel, I can eat good food, I can see new people, I can smile, I can make memories that I dreamed of having, I can laugh, I can support my family and my friends, I can learn about the world, and I can give back to everyone because of you,” she reflected in a series of tweets. “I do owe people shit. I owe a lot.”
Doja continued, “I owe myself a lot too. I owe myself the chance to open up and be good to people. I owe myself the death of my fears that don’t allow me to expand my heart. I didn’t come to another country to do something i can do everywhere else. that would be pointless in a way.”
