Dominic Fike is kicking off 2026 with a cover of Primus’ “South Park Theme.” The musician and actor stopped by Australian radio station triple j to perform it and discuss his appreciation for the cartoon.
“I love South Park. I watch it every night to go to sleep. Literally every night,” he said in the interview, expounding:
Which I realized, I’ve been thinking about lately when I say that to people, how that could be bad because there’s some touchy jokes but I don’t listen to it for that. I like the idea of… like when I grew up it was like, we would be outside my house, it’d be me, my friend Max, my homie Patrick, and my little brother. And it was like a new episode every day. I’d be like, “So what are we doing today?” And I would be the guy that was like, “We should go here and do this.” So I like the adventure aspect. I like it because they have big imaginations and everything’s like a new world for them. Like everything’s exciting to them. Which is what I feel like. I don’t know if I’m explaining this correctly. But it feels optimistic when the episode starts. It’s funny throughout, which is how I prefer life. And then it ends abruptly. And Primus starts, which I think is how my life will go.
He also performed Cody ChesnuTT’s “Boylife In America” and his own “Epilogue.” Watch his triple j performances and interview below.
