Los Angeles, CA – The fight over Dr. Dre’s billion dollar estate continues. The music mogul’s wife of 24 years, Nicole Young, filed for divorce with the Los Angeles Superior Court in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences.” But they’ve yet to come to a financial agreement that appeases both parties. As the proceedings drag on, Dr. Dre’s assets have reportedly been exposed in new court documents.
According to VladTV, the savvy businessman has stacked $180 million in cash, $260 million in property and $6 million in stock. over the years as a prolific record producer and entrepreneur.
The documents state Dr. Dre sold off a portion of his Apple stock amid the divorce for over $73 million. As for his Dr. Dre business, the 56-year-old reportedly pulled in $4 million in 2020 alone. Young is asking Dr. Dre cough up $4 million to cover her legal fees in the divorce and claims Dre still owes her $1.2 million from a previous court order.
Dr. Dre and his now ex-wife have been squabbling over a prenuptial agreement put in place over two decades ago. Young believes it should be rendered null and void after Dre supposedly tore it up one evening as some form of romantic gesture — but Dr. Dre begs to differ.
Even so, Dr. Dre is currently paying Young almost $300,000 a month in temporary spousal support or about $3.5 million per year. The only way out for Dr. Dre is if Young “remarries or enters into a new domestic partnership, death of either party.”
A source close to Dr. Dre told HipHopDX in July, “The support order is consistent with what he has already been paying since the initial separation and that it is a fraction of what Nicole and her lawyers demanded.”
