Drake Acknowledges His Haters: 'They Hated On 'Views' Just Like They Will 'Certified Lover Boy'

Drake is well aware of the negative comments people make about him and he doesn’t hold back on addressing his haters from time to time. Over the weekend, Drizzy was watching his father Aubrey Graham’s Instagram Live session and responded to a fan who praised his 2016 album, Views.

“They hated on Views just like they will Certified Lover Boy but it’s music to evolve to,” Drake wrote with a love heart emoji.

The excited fan reposted the comment on social media and confirmed what he said to Drizzy to spark the response.

“Drake actually responded to me, fuckin respect to da almighty [goat],” he wrote. “I told Drake ‘Views be hittin different’ in his dad’s live, and he gave me some closure on how ‘Certified Lover Boy’ gon’ sound.”

Drake’s reply is reminiscent of his editor notes for Scorpion in 2018, in which he took note of the various things people think about him and his music.

“I hate when Drake raps,” he wrote in the Apple Music description. “Drake sings too much, Drake is a pop artist, Drake doesn’t even write his own songs, Drake took an L, Drake didn’t start from the bottom, Drake is finished, I like Drake’s older stuff, Drake makes music for girls, Drake thinks he’s Jamaican, Drake is an actor, Drake changed, anybody else > Drake, yeah yeah we know.”

On Drake’s 34th birthday (October 24), he announced his new album Certified Lover Boy would be dropping in January 2021, after previously being set for a summer 2020 release. The announcement trailer saw him recreate album covers for So Far Gone, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same and Dark Lane Demo Tapes.

However, a solo album might not be the only project part of Drake’s plans. On Friday (November 6), Fat Joe caught up with Chris Brown on Instagram Live and asked him whether he’ll ever release a collaborative album with Drake.

“Yeah,” Breezy said. “We got some songs. We definitely got some songs.”

Fat Joe responded, “Oh man, that shit gon’ kill everything.”
