Drake & Lil Durk's 'Laugh Now Cry Later' No Match For Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion's 'WAP' In Billboard Hot 100 Pursuit

A massive 69.8 million first-week streams for Drake and Lil Durk’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” Niked-out collaboration wasn’t enough to knock one of the highest-performing songs of the year.

The upbeat record (produced by Cardo, G-Ry, Yung Exclusive and Chahayed) wound up debuting at No. 2.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s reigning Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “WAP” retained its position at No. 1 with 72.2 million streams for its second week. The track rocked the culture last week with its chart-topping debut and 93 million streams worth of dirty lyrics as the song’s title is an acronym for “Wet Ass Pussy.”

The salacious song has already broken several records including becoming the first female rap collaboration to top the Billboard Hot 100 while obtaining the highest first-week audio streams of 2020, besting Roddy Ricch’s early quarantine fan fav, “The Box.”

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ Should Be Renamed ‘Record-Breaker’ Because That’s All It Does

“Laugh Now Cry Later” served as the first single for Drake’s upcoming sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy. Although a release date for the album hasn’t been named, the Dave Meyers-directed video took full advantage of the COVID-19-vacated Nike headquarters in Oregon. The visuals boasted appearances from sports stars Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr., Marshawn Lynch and some exclusive Nike merch.
