New York, NY – Fivio Foreign‘s run as the current face of Brooklyn drill rap continues with his guest appearance on Funk Flex’s “GAMETIME” single.
Shot in New York, the official video finds the longtime Hot 97 DJ and Fivio spending time between the studios of Hot 97 to an alleyway filled with Bentleys, Beamers and more.
“It’s amazing. It’s a movie in the making,” Fivio raps on the song. “Good things come to those who wait so I’m patient.”
The track was produced by Flex himself, who explained how the “Big Drip” rapper was among the first artists to understand where his vision was headed.
“I met Fivio before COVID-19 and shared with him I was working on an album,” Flex wrote. “We met at the studio BUT I played him a few joints off my album so he could see and feel the vibe I was on! That evening during the Corona pandemic we recorded and we shot the 1st scene of the video! Fivio was one of the first artist to believe in my vision! Thanks again my brother!”
The untitled project from Flex would be his first since 2013’s Who ou Mad At? Me Or Yourself mixtape. Over time, the venerable NYC DJ has released six albums, four of which earned gold plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Already hailed as one of the pioneers of the sound, Fivio’s feature list is growing by the day. Lil Yachty was recently seen in the studio with him, months after DreamDoll requested his services for 2020’s “Ah Ah Ah.” The co-signs grew even larger as Fivio guested on two of Hit-Boy’s beloved 2020 tracks, “Salute” with Big Sean and “Spicy” with Nas and A$AP Ferg, not to mention Drake’s “Demons” from Dark Lane Demo Tapes.
