Joey Bada$$ Admits Solar Eclipse Stunt Was An 'Excuse' To Quit Logic Tour

Joey Bada$$ tweeted about watching the solar eclipse without wearing any eye protection in 2017, which led to him canceling appearances on Logic’s Everybody Tour. Now, he’s admitted he used the stunt as an excuse to quit the tour.

“Speaking of solar eclipses, you know I never got any type of eye damage from that solar eclipse shit that ‘happened,’” he wrote to Twitter on Tuesday (June 14). “I just really wanted an excuse to be off the Logic tour. Blogs literally created a story and I went with it because it was convenient for me at the time.

“But it was also funny to see how gullible people are. It taught me a valuable lesson, whatever the media puts out in unison, people will simply believe. Even if the source isn’t validated. Scary world.”

He added, “And logic is my n-gga btw. I ain’t with no logic slander. The tour just wasn’t serving me well at the time.”

Joey Bada$$ tweeted about looking at the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, before canceling his upcoming shows a day later.

“Am I crazy for watching the eclipse today w no glasses?” he said at the time. “I’ve sungazed before and afterwards saw colors for a whole day. I didn’t die tho. This ain’t the first solar eclipse and I’m pretty sure our ancestors ain’t have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain’t all go blind.”

He tweeted the next day, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, my Cleveland, Chicago & Toronto shows on the #EverybodyTour are cancelled.”
