Quality Control artist Lakeyah is taking her career to new heights with power moves and exciting collaborations.
On Friday (June 3), the Milwaukee native announced her new deal with Motown Records by delivering “Mind Yo Business,” the follow-up to her recent “I Look Good” single, which also includes a guest appearance from Latto.
“Newest Motown Signee I’m still shoook!” she wrote in part on Twitter. “GO STREAM #myb ft latto.”

Ahead of the release of their collaboration Latto also remarked on Lakeyah’s new deal with Motown by affirming the QC rapper as the “Youngest in charge,” in a brief tweet on June 1.
QC CEO Pierre “P” Thomas also gave his signee her flowers in a statement to Billboard, remarking on the path they laid out for her when they initially signed her three years ago.
“We’ve been developing Lakeyah for a couple years knowing we had our eyes on this Motown signing because she’s got all the makings of a star,” he said. “I have no doubt she’s going to rise quickly in this culture and make a big mark for herself.”
With her addition to the Motown roster, Lakeyah joins a sprawling list of artists such as the City Girls, Lil Yachty, Duke Deuce, the Migos, Vince Staples and more.
Prior to her collab with Latto, Lakeyah had also previously joined forces with the City Girls for their “Female Goat” collaboration. The track represents a full-circle moment for the 21-year-old, who gained the attention of P at QC in 2019 after going viral with her remixes of popular songs from artists such as Lil Baby and the City Girls.
