Megan Thee Stallion is the latest rapper bringing her talents to television. The Houston hottie has signed an exclusive first-look deal with Netflix, it was announced on Thursday (December 16).
The partnership will see Megan — whose nascent TV career includes a cameo in NBC’s crime comedy-drama Good Girls — create and executive produce content for the streaming giant, including TV series and other unspecified projects.
“I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix,” Megan said in a statement. “Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”

“Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture,” Tracey Pakosta, head of comedy at Netflix, added. “She’s always growing and evolving as an artist, and we’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”
While Netflix has previously partnered with a host of Hip Hop artists on films, series and documentaries, including Travis Scott, Killer Mike and Ludacris, Megan’s deal is the first of its kind the streaming company has announced with a rapper.
She joins an esteemed club of creatives with similar Netflix deals including Beyoncé, Steven Spielberg and Leonardo DiCaprio, according to What’s On Netflix.
Netflix is just the latest high-profile brand to saddle up with Megan Thee Stallion this year. Nike partnered with Tina Snow in September for their “Play New” campaign, which saw the “Thot Shit” rapper assume the title of “Hot Girl Coach” to run a series of Nike Training Club workouts.
In October, Megan teamed up with famed Louisiana fast-food chicken chain Popeyes to launch her very own “Hottie Sauce.” She’s also racked up numerous awards in 2021, including three Grammys, while becoming the first rapper to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Perhaps the highlight of Megan’s year, however, came earlier this month when she graduated from Texas Southern University, fulfilling her late mother’s wish.
“I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud,” Megan, who graduated with bachelor’s degree in health administration, told PEOPLE in June 2020. “She saw me going to school before she passed … I’m doing it for me, but I’m also doing it for the women in my family who made me who I am today.”
