Despite all of her success, Megan Thee Stallion has faced her fair share of criticism for her sexually-charged music, image and performances — and frankly, she’s had enough.
Ahead of a string of performances in the U.K. later this month, the Houston rapper sat down for an interview with radio host Julie Adenuga for London’s Evening Standard, in which she delivered a scathing P.S.A. to “ignorant” men who continue to criticize her career.

When asked if her view of men as a whole has changed since becoming famous, Megan replied, “I’m starting to see how much more ignorant men are than I thought. When you’re a woman who’s not a threat, men don’t really bother you. And then as you grow into your own and as you become somebody who doesn’t need a man or somebody who is so independent… men like that damsel in distress type of role and that’s not me.
“I feel like that’s what kind of gets under a lot of men’s skin. Like, ‘How dare she talk about her vagina? She loves herself and she don’t need me and she’s going to take my money.’ I just feel like I make a lot of them uncomfortable and I feel like that’s my job.
She continued, “I’m not a normal woman, I’m not a normal person, and if my un-normalness offends you, well, I’m obviously doing something right and, baby, look the other way. You can’t stop looking the other way, because you like what you see and you hate that you like what you see. That’s why you hate it, that’s why you go through all these emotions and you’re lashing out on me.
“So I’m not even mad at these men. They’re emotionally ignorant. Once they come to grips with who they are, maybe they’ll grow up.”
Megan Thee Stallion’s raunchy persona has drawn backlash from all corners of pop culture. Snoop Dogg, CeeLo Green and even Tiger King‘s Carole Baskin are among the high-profile names who took issue with Megan’s “WAP” collaboration with Cardi B. Meanwhile, the duo’s performance of the song at the 2021 Grammy Awards received dozens of FCC complaints, with one complaint likening it to a “hardcore pornography film.”
Nevertheless, Tina Snow remains unfazed. Previously, in a 2020 interview with GQ UK, the H-Town native clapped back at critics — namely of the male gender — of her “WAP” single. “It just comes from a place of fear and insecurity,” she said. “Like, why would anyone be mad about my WAP? It belongs to me.”
Elsewhere in her Evening Standard interview, Megan Thee Stallion talked about her blossoming relationship with boyfriend Pardison Fontaine (who she praises as being “emotionally literate”), her ambition to write music for other artists in her 40s and the prospect of performing in front of a majority-white crowd in the U.K.
“I would hope they know better than to say the N-word,” she said.
