Posted by Midlake continue the build up to their new record with the release of ‘Days Gone By’, the second track to emerge from forthcoming album ‘A Bridge To Far’, due November 7th via Bella Union. The song arrives with a hypnotic new video featuring Emmy Award-nominated actor James Lance (Ted Lasso, Black Mirror), directed by Taylor McFadden with choreography from Phil Cogan (Hamilton).
Bathed in the soft light of a New York sunrise, the one take visual follows Lance as he drifts from stillness to rapture, his movements turning the city street into a stage for transformation. McFadden frames the sequence as both intimate and cinematic: “We choreographed the camera and the dance to work in tandem with each other, capturing each movement up close and personal.”
Lance’s appearance in the video stems from a long standing admiration for the band, dating back to a 2023 show at London’s Roundhouse. “This all happened because of the love I felt swirling around The Roundhouse for a magical boy called Noble. This video is an invocation…remembering to dance with the sun, and the moon and the skies.”
Produced by Sam Evian at The Echo Lab in Denton, ‘A Bridge To Far’ marks Midlake’s sixth studio album, balancing expansive textures with an understated sense of hope. Frontman Eric Pulido describes the record as “less about referencing someone else’s sound and more about sounding like us.”
Alongside the release, Midlake have confirmed a UK and European tour for early 2026, including dates in Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam and a headline at London’s Electric Ballroom.
