Toronto rapper NAV had taken a brief hiatus from the music scene, but it looks like he’s about to make his return. On Monday (June 27), the rapper-producer announced via Twitter he will be dropping a new album titled Demons Protected By Angels.
The project will serve as NAV’s fourth studio album and the follow-up to his May 2020 release Good Intentions, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. According to the press release, the XO artist has something special planned on social media days before the release of Demons Protected By Angels, which is slated to arrive on July 29.

NAV’s last project came in November 2020 with the mixtape Emergency Tsunami, entirely produced by which superstar beatsmith Wheezy. There’s not much word on what’s to come on the new album, but NAV is hoping to see the same success he did with his last two solo studio efforts.
On top of Good Intentions going No. 1, NAV had actually accomplished the feat a year before that album dropped. The 32-year-old unleashed Bad Habits in 2019, and that debuted at No. 1, giving the rapper the first chart-topper of his career.
While he was busy working on his next album, NAV had some time to joke around with Drake on Instagram. Last year, the two engaged in a back-and-forth on the popular social media app, making fun of each other.
The 6 God posted a photo to his IG Story of NAV with the hilarious caption, “I look good AF right here… good morning world.” The Good Intentions rapper responded to the lookalike joke and shared an edited photo of Drake’s Take Care album cover with his head on Drake’s body.
