PnB Rock (real name Rakim Allen) was with his girlfriend when the shooting occurred. Once the suspects got to Roscoe’s, Muniz said they brandished a firearm inside the restaurant and demanded jewelry from the Philadelphia rapper.
“He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot,” Muniz explained.
Los Angeles Police Department investigators are examining security video from inside the restaurant in an effort to identify the shooter. They also are checking with surrounding businesses for any additional footage.
Rock rose to notoriety in 2015 with the single “Fleek” and went on to collaborate with a slew of notable artists, including Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug and the late Pop Smoke.
The rapper’s 2016 single “Selfish” peaked at No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest of the Atlantic Record artist’s career.
Rock leaves behind two daughters and his girlfriend Steph Sibounheuang. HipHopDX sends its condolences to PnB Rock’s family, friends and fans.
