To celebrate last year’s critically-acclaimed ‘Through The Wall’ LP, Rochelle Jordan has unveiled a string of remix-oriented releases titled ‘Disc 1-5’.
Connecting R&B with club-tailored beats, the British-Canadian has built a fluid throughline of emotive songwriting and dancefloor-primed production. Across a series of monthly releases, Jordan calls on her friends-slash-collaborators to re-imagine her discography. Set to land on August 14th via Empire, the first disc features Honey Dijon, Ron Trent, Halogenix and regular collaborator KLSH, cross-referencing Rochelle’s UK-inflected record collection growing up, while exploring genres like Chicago house and Detroit techno.
Jordan shares the lead track ‘I’m Your Muse’, inviting Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Ron Trent to rework its glitching, shimmery strut. The track demands a cocktail-in-hand; prepped up for festival season, the rework deals in euphoria, but remains stylish and lowkey like the original.
Speaking on the remix, Rochelle Jordan shares:
“The Ron Trent ‘I’m Your Muse’ remix is the epitome of what summer sounds and feels like to me, with its fresh and exhilarating sound. You can’t escape the jaws of this vibe once you’ve pressed play. I’m excited to release this one and so grateful to this legend for painting a new perspective on one of my favorite tracks on ‘Through The Wall’. This is another classic.”
Ron Trent adds: “A remix isn’t about changing a song, it’s about revealing another dimension of its spirit.”
Tune in now.
