Tekashi 6ix9ine Is Days Away From Getting Off House Arrest

Tekashi 6ix9ine has been on house arrest since being granted a “compassionate release” from prison in April. Over the last few months, the controversial rapper has been up to his old online shenanigans, engaging in e-beef with everyone from Meek Mill to Snoop Dogg.

But as the 24-year-old inched closer to freedom, his legal team advised him to shut down his social media accounts and lay low, so his omnipresence on Instagram has been non-existent over the last couple of weeks. That will likely cease on Sunday (August 2) when his sentence officially ends nearly two years after he pleaded guilty to nine counts of federal racketeering and firearms charges.

6ix9ine was arrested in November 2018 alongside his former manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan and was facing decades behind bars. But the Brooklyn native quickly agreed to cooperate with the federal government in an effort to receive a lighter sentence — and it worked.

During the trial against Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison, 6ix9ine took the witness stand and proceeded to provide details about the inner workings of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

As a result, Mack and Ellison were convicted and 6ix9ine was sentenced to roughly 24 months in prison, earning the nickname “Snitch9ine” in the process. Evidently, that didn’t matter to his fans. Upon his release from prison, his first video “GOOBA” smashed Eminem’s record for the most YouTube views in a 24-hour period and the song debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His second video, “TROLLZ,” featured Nicki Minaj and helped 6ix9ine earn his first No. 1 single. His post-prison success led him to explode with pride in a since-deleted Instagram post last month.

“THEY TRIED SO HARD PUSHING SOMEONE ELSES SONG,” he wrote in all caps. “LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT YA DID !!!! YOU CANT BLACKBALL MEEEEEE. IM TO BIG OF A STARRRRRRRRRRRR … OH ANNDDDDDDD ALL THE FANBASES THAT TEAMED UP TO PREVENT THIS NUMBER ONE I SAW THAT TOOOOO.

“DEBUT NUMBER 1 WITH NONE OF YOU! HATERSSSS WATCH THIS 1 MILLION TIMES HATER HATER. YOU CAN SAY WHAT EVER IM NUMBER 1 AND YOU CANT TAKE THAT FROM ME I WENT UP AGAINST THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND WON!!!!!!!!! @nickiminaj WE ARE THE FUCKING MONSTERS OF THIS SHIT I LOVE YOU MOMMAZZZ.”

YouTube Reports Tekashi 6ix9ine & Nicki Minaj’s ‘TROLLZ’ Video Didn’t Break Record

6ix9ine presumably plans to continue his rap (and trolling) career as soon as his house arrest is over. Earlier this month, he claimed he secured a $5 million deal with GlobalStreamNow for a virtual performance, which is scheduled to take place on September 5 at 8 p.m. Eastern.
