Troy Ave has set his sights on his longtime rival Casanova 2x who’s currently behind bars awaiting trial on drug trafficking and racketeering charges.
On Monday (May 17), Troy uploaded the single art for the Casanova diss track “Assanova” to his Instagram account that included an animated rat wearing a “2x” chain. He also added lyrics from another Kill or Be Killed track “Richer Than My Haters” in the caption.
“Casanova crying folks he jus settin up stage to tell/How the fuk u crying broke wit jus 90 days in a cell,” he wrote. “U sold ya soul for protection/They ain’t protect u to swell/Damn caswell/U the blood they extort on/This occurrence is CLASSIK LIKE THE BOY U TOLD ON/Don’t make me retrieve da paperwork that u wrote on/Can’t get a visit from None of them rappers dicks u rode on.”

The catalyst for the diss tracks appears to be Casanova’s recent Instagram post about people he thought were friends abandoning him.
“SOME PEOPLE I THOUGHT LOVE ME, ONLY NEEDED ME,” he wrote on Sunday (May 16). I GET IT NOW. I WON’T LET THAT GO OVER MY HEAD.” He added, “@taxstone you was right!”
He also shared in a previous post, “BE CAREFUL WHO LIFE CHANGE, THEY MIGHT NOT REMAIN THE SAME WHEN YOU NEED THEM THE MOST!”
That was apparently enough to prompt Troy Ave to break out his pen.

Casanova was taken into custody last December after turning himself in to federal authorities who believe his involvement in the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang has resulted in numerous crimes. In January, he appeared in a New York City courtroom in hopes of securing bail but was denied.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Davison said while the defense had presented a “formidable” argument for freeing him on $2.5 million bail, Davison was concerned about the danger Casanova poses to the community.
“When you go back to the history and characteristics of this defense … this is a defendant who has, over the last decade, managed to rack up three serious violent felony convictions,” Davison said. “It is quite reasonable to infer that people who cross (Casanova) get hurt.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Russell Felton added, “He sits near the very top of a violent organization. He’s one of the top leaders and narcotic suppliers in a large scale operation that was carried out by more junior members of Gorilla Stone.”
