UMusic Shop Camden is currently playing host to a special week-long takeover, celebrating the artistry and cultural significance of The Ivors. Situated in one of British music’s most storied postcodes, the shop has transformed into an immersive tribute to the craft of songwriting.
The Ivors, an annual ceremony dedicated to spotlighting the finest voices in songwriting, held its latest awards ceremony on May 21st. The event featured a star-studded guest list, including Harry Styles and Rosalia, who gathered to honor the industry’s most impactful creators.
Throughout this week, the UMusic Shop Camden has been running an industry-wide programme designed to celebrate the cultural impact of songwriters and screen composers. The installation includes a songwriter-curated vinyl display, offering fans a unique opportunity to view musical landmarks from fresh, creative angles.
A highlight of the takeover is the live lyric screen-printing activation. This initiative celebrates some of the most iconic lyrics in British music history, featuring legendary works from The Cure, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Richard Ashcroft, Joy Division, and more. As a special bonus, visitors will have the opportunity to witness the written word brought to life through limited-edition, collectable prints.
