Young Thug’s label Young Stoner Life has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with Slime Language 2.
Released on April 16, the project managed to sell roughly 113,000 total album-equivalent units during its first week. Of that figure, 106,000 were SEA units, equaling 142.68 million on-demand song streams, with just 6,000 album sales and 1,000 in TEA units. Slime Language 2 is the label’s third ever No. 1 album following Gunna’s Wunna in 2020 and Young Thug’s So Much Fun in 2019.
The 23-track project features contributions from YSL’s many artists including Gunna, Lil Keed, Lil Duke, Yak Gotti and T-Shyne. Elsewhere, there are big-name features from Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Future, Meek Mill, Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi, Big Sean and more. Young Thug appears the most times with performances on 13 songs.
Slime Language 2 marks just the second Hip Hop/R&B album to hit the Billboard 200’s No. 1 spot in 2021 after Rod Wave’s SoulFly.

Thug will be hoping the project holds firm in the Top 10 following the release of the deluxe version on Friday (April 23). The additional eight tracks have appearances from DaBaby, Don Toliver, Jim Jones, NAV and others.
YSL’s first Slime Language album arrived in August 2018 and debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 with around 41,000 album-equivalent units.
Gunna recently revealed the song “Solid” was supposed to appear on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album, but he got permission to use it on the YSL compilation instead.
“Drake had originally sent me the song for his album and I did it and we was vibing with it for a minute,” Gunna explained. “But then his album didn’t come out and I was still vibing with it, and I’m like ‘Shit bro, I wanna put it on Slime Language 2. Let’s put slime (Thug) on it.’ And he was like extra with it and we did, and that’s how that came together.”
