2021 HipHopDX Rising Star DDG has been making waves all year with new music and knockout victories in boxing matches. However, the Pontiac, Michigan native has his sights set on even bigger moves.
During a recent interview with Wonderland Magazine that dropped on Tuesday (December 7), DDG revealed the artists he’d like to get in the studio and work with — and his answer shouldn’t really come as a surprise.
“The top 3 I would say is Drake, Rihanna and Olivia Rodrigo,” he said.
DDG hasn’t worked with any of those names yet, but he did show his appreciation for Drake and his music back in July. The “Moonwalking in Calabasas” star put the 6 God in his list of top five favorite rappers during a conversation with XXL and explained the impact Drizzy’s music has had on him.
“He got me through a lot of relationships,” he said. “I felt like he was in the same relationship I was.”
Despite showing love to Drake, DDG doesn’t feel the same about one of his other rap peers. The 24-year-old rapper/boxer is still looking to get in the ring with his foe and fellow HipHopDX Rising Star Toosii after fans caught the two in the middle of a stressful situation involving DDG’s girlfriend at the time.
“I was supposed to fight Toosii,” DDG told HipHopDX in August. “I’m gonna try to bring it together, but we’re gonna see if it can happen or not. But if not I really ain’t looking forward to getting in the ring unless it’s like a big official event.”
