San Bernadino, CA – According to the Smokers Club Festival line-up, Chief Keef will perform his 2012 debut album Finally Rich in its entirety during his set at California’s Smoker’s Club Festival.
The news comes after Chief Keef was added to the festival lineup on Wednesday (March 9). The California festival announced its 2022 lineup in January, and headliners for the cannabis-friendly fest include Kid Cudi, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, ScHoolboy Q and Wiz Khalifa. As noted on the flyer, the latter two rappers will also hit the stage to run through their legendary albums Oxymoron and Kush & Orange Juice. This means that between Khalifa, ScHoolboy, and Chief Keef it’s gearing up to be a nostalgic weekend for Millenials.
Other artists set to perform at the Glen Helen Amphitheater on April 30 include Earl Sweatshirt, The Alchemist, Lupe Fiasco, Danny Brown, Curren$y, Rico Nasty, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock and Wale.
Chief Keef recently dropped off his latest mixtape 4NEM last December. The 14-track project features production appearances from DJ Paul Young, Malcom, and Akach among others. The legendary Chicago rapper has dropped 14 mixtapes in the last three years, an impressive run that’s included eight editions of his The Leek series, four installations of The GloFiles, and two projects with producer Zaytoven.
On the latter collaboration, Chief Keef admitted on Twitter he was actually brought to tears while recording the song “Ain’t Gonna Happen.”
“Fun fact: on front of ain’t gonna happen a young n-gga was cryin thinking about them members but everytime I cry I laugh so I ended up laughing and taking the crying out the front you only hear it on intro by the time I got to laughin,” he wrote.
