Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade launched her new podcast Just a Little Shady named after her father’s Slim Shady alter ego on Friday (July 15). Speaking to co-host and childhood friend Brittany Ednie, Hailie opened up about her childhood as the daughter of one of the biggest rappers in the world.
“I remember going on [Eminem’s tour bus] and all our memories of being young were so cool and unique to look back at now,” Ednie said. “But at the time, it felt so normal and not anything strange or different. I mean, ’cause we didn’t know any better.”
Hailie added, “Obviously we were in a normal public school, we never thought anything was different. Like, I don’t know, we had so many normal experiences that when something like that happened, I thought like, ‘Oh, everybody else does this too.’ Not realizing that like, no, that’s freaking weird.
“It’s so fun to look back, when we have these conversations here, wherever, thinking back as an adult, I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s actually so surreal.’ Those memories of me thinking those were normal things, now I look back and I’m like, ‘Holy crap, that was cool.’”
Hailie Jade recalled casually taking a limousine to Disney World when Eminem was busy working in Florida.
“I always think about that time,” Hailie said. “We went to Florida, my dad was working on something, and he was working the whole time. But he set up for us to do the limo and take it to Disney and we did the princess tea party, and he had the dresses waiting for us.”
She continued, “And even then, like at the time, we were so happy and so excited, but we didn’t get to appreciate that moment as much as now when we talk about it and think back on it. We’re like, ‘Oh my god, that was just awesome.’”

With mentions on songs such as “Mockingbird,” “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” “’97 Bonnie & Clyde” and “Hailie’s Song,” Eminem fans are no strangers to Hailie Jade — and she’s actually one of his biggest fans herself. In December, she revealed she was among his top three percent of listeners on Spotify in 2021.
