According to a document obtained by XXL on Friday, Sept. 18, Durk’s attorneys have requested a bond hearing for Nov. 4 before Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald, who presided over the artist’s recent murder-for-hire trial. A member of the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office has been ordered to attend the proceedings to provide an updated bail report.
This development arrives as the Lil Durk second trial on murder-related racketeering charges linked to Only the Family (OTF) is slated for Oct. 5. While some legal observers have speculated that the date may serve as a placeholder, the formal notice of the bond hearing has been widely circulated.
Legal expert Moe Gangat has suggested that the defense team intends to present a substantial bail package. Given that the OTF leader was acquitted in his murder-for-hire trial last month, his attorneys are expected to argue that he poses neither a flight risk nor a threat to the community, warranting his release on bond.
