Molly Gone Mad have officially dropped their highly anticipated debut album, Modern World. Marking a bold introduction for the sibling duo, the project offers a contemporary spin on funk, soul, and R&B that looks outward, capturing the complexities of the current era.
Spanning fourteen tracks, the outfit pursues a groove-led instrumentation, discovering profound depth in their acoustic arrangements and true-to-self songwriting. The result is an uplifting, resonant listen that addresses the backdrop of climate anxiety while simultaneously tackling intimate themes of human connection, relationships, and the necessity of escapism.
Arriving alongside a short documentary, Modern World provides a candid glimpse into the creative journey of the duo over the past year. A collaborative effort between the siblings and producer Rocco Spaziani Testa, the project was recorded across the city and finalized at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, truly entering its stride through the energy of live performance.
Reflecting on the release, the duo opened up about the significance of the project, noting, “There is no point in hiding from our fears. We can face them whilst still focusing on joy, human connection, love and honesty. Being a human being is beautiful.”
Tune in to the new album now.
