Posted by 0171 have released a short film to accompany two tracks from their brand new EP ‘Welcome Back To My Channel’.
Directed by Jake Alden-Falconer, ‘Welcome Back To My Channel / The Utopians’ acts as a double video with an introspective focus.
Produced and written by 0171 and mixed by Joe Visciano, the video melds UK Garage and dance-pop with ambient electronica for an emotional journey.
The film begins ASMR-style by whispering words of affirmation. Sax played by Ajay Ratan buzzes underneath, before the video plunges into kaleidoscopic action.
The project channels a multitude of emotions to provide a take on self-care that feels utterly contemporary.
“At times we’d been feeling like we were losing ourselves, forgetting to be nice to ourselves,” 0171 explain. “We wrote most of it in a cottage surrounded by sheep in Wales with no running water, and it did end up being a form of therapy for us – taking us from our lowest point in music to a place of positivity and love.”
