Italy, like the U.K and other parts of Europe was particularly hard hit by Covid-19 early on in the outbreak.
Weeks of quarantine closed venues, concert halls and kept musicians penned up in their homes serenading their neigbours whilst playing music from their balconies.
Clash has teamed up with LIVENow to highlight a series of upcoming streams from Roma Jazz Festival.
Starting with the Area Open Project upcoming performance to be broadcast on Tuesday 10th November.
Coming together around the genius of Demetrio Statos, the Area Open Project is a story of musical experimentation.
Now a collective of musicians inc Patrizio Fariselli, Giulia Capiozzo, Ares Tavolazzi, Paolo Tufani and guests – all intent on expanding the boundaries of music.
Collectively they also channnel their music as a political tool, a vehicle through which they can comment on socio-economic debate and intervene on matters of public interest.
For this very special performance, they journey into the world of jazz playing songs from new record ‘Live In Japan’ with vocallist Claudia Tellini reimagining the work of Demetrio Stratos.
Expect the collective to transition fluidly between electronica, jazz and world rhythms reinterpreted in their inimitable style.
