Aaron Frazer Pulls At The Heartstrings On ‘Same Old Game’

LA singer Aaron Frazer has shared his new song ‘Same Old Game’. The vocalist is perhaps best known for his role in the revered modern soul outfit Durand Jones & the Indications, while he has continued to build his solo legacy following his 2021 debut ‘Introducing…’ and the 2024 album ‘Into The Blue’.

With his new EP ‘Corners’ slated for release on October 30th, Frazer is once again speaking directly from the heart. His latest single, ‘Same Old Game’, is a crisp, sweet soul wonder. The vocal performance is imbued with incredible feeling, while the lyrics evoke a poignant, childhood sense of innocence.

Written and recorded between tours over the past year, ‘Same Old Game’ arrives alongside a charming, retro-inspired black and white music video. Discussing the inspiration behind the track, Frazer notes: “I love childhood imagery in soul music. The Intruders’ ‘Cowboys to Girls’ is probably the most famous, depicting that jump from juvenile preoccupation to grown-up feelings of love. I’ve always wanted to write something in that tradition, and ‘Same Old Game’ is my contribution to that niche.”

He continues, “I think a lot of people can relate to that longstanding crush feeling like a game of tag back and forth. I hope people hear this, send this to that someone, and shoot their shot. Only one way to find out.”
