Live Preview: Mino Cinelu & Nils Petter Molvær

Italy, like the U.K and other parts of Europe was particularly hard hit by Covid-19 early on in the outbreak.

Weeks of quarantine closed venues, concert halls and kept musicians penned up in their homes serenading their neigbours whilst playing music from their balconies.

Clash has teamed up with LIVENow to highlight a series of upcoming streams from Roma Jazz Festival.

Collaborating on a very special album and body of music, Mino & Petter have drawn inspiration from their childhoods.

The album pays tribute to Manu Dibango, Toney Allen and Jimmy Cobb.

Cinelo gained international recognition and fame from work with Miles Davis, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Sting and Lou Reed to name but a few of his collaborators.

Nils Petter Molvaer is one of Europes most celebrated trumpeters and renowned figures in contemporary Jazz, with over a dozen records pushing the boundaries of sound.

Both masters at translating visual image to sound and feeling via their compositions.

Their collaborative album finds them exploring common ground as the sounds of northern hemisphere meet the vibrance and rhythmic fire of Latin America.
