Pooh Shiesty’s Father to Be Released Pending Gucci Mane Robbery Trial

Lontrell Williams Sr., the father of rapper Pooh Shiesty, is set to be released from federal custody. A judge ordered his release on bond on Wednesday, May 27, as the high-profile robbery and kidnapping case against him, his son, and several co-defendants continues to move through the Texas federal court system.

The legal proceedings stem from an incident on January 10, where prosecutors allege that Pooh Shiesty, his father, and associates—including Big30—lured Gucci Mane to a Dallas music studio under the pretense of business. According to investigators, the situation escalated when the group allegedly coerced the rapper into signing a release at gunpoint while stripping him and others of cash and jewelry.

The FBI reportedly obtained a statement from Gucci Mane regarding the encounter, which led to a series of arrests in April, including a raid on the elder Williams’ home in Tennessee. While Pooh Shiesty and Big30 remain in jail after their bonds were previously revoked, the court has allowed Lontrell Williams Sr. to await the upcoming trial from home.

The federal trial for the nine defendants is currently scheduled to begin on July 6. If convicted on the charges, the group faces the possibility of life imprisonment.
