We Were Promised Jetpacks have shared their new single ‘If It Happens’ in full.
The Scottish band returned in 2018 with studio album ‘The More I Sleep the Less I Dream’, playing a series of dynamic live shows.
Lockdown seems to be fruitful, with the group now returning with a new single.
New single ‘If It Happens’ is out now, a wonderful piece of indie rock with plenty of the band’s trademark energy.
As always, it’s lyrically expressive, with We Were Promised Jetpacks searching for a greater sense of optimism.
Lead singer Adam Thompson explains: “I feel that ‘If It Happens’ expresses a lot about what I had been trying to get across to myself. It was all part of my new mindset of trying to be more positive about what I have and not always thinking about what I don’t. It’s about embracing the idea of happiness, doing what you can to encourage it and generally be a lot more ‘c’est la vie’ about everything. If it happens, it happens; if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. What can you do?”
Out now digitally, ‘If It Happens’ gains a vinyl release from June 29th.
