2022 BET Awards Kick Off In Los Angeles: See All The Winners

Los Angeles, CA – Right on schedule, the annual BET Awards kicked off Sunday evening (June 26) with a number of celebrities showing up at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater to hopeful to nab a trophy or two.

Doja Cat, who leads the nominations, is up for Best Female Hip Hop artist, Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Album of the Year, BET Her, Video of the Year and Best Collaboration. She’s also this year’s only artist to be nominated in both R&B/pop and Hip Hop categories.

Drake follows right behind Doja Cat with four nominations, while Baby Keem, Silk Sonic, Ari Lennox, Chlöe, Future, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Ye (formerly Kanye West), Kendrick Lamar, Lil Baby, Mary J. Blige and Tems each received three nominations.

Lil Wayne Added To 2022 BET Awards Performance Lineup

Bad Boy Records mogul Diddy will also be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, joining previous recipients Whitney Houston, Prince, Queen Latifah, Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige, Samuel Jackson, Lionel Richie, New Edition and more. A special career retrospective honoring Diddy will include Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Nas, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, The LOX, Bryson Tiller, Faith Evans and The Maverick City Choir.
