'Big Homie' Rapper Symba’s BET Cypher Pushes Brittney Renner’s Buttons

During one of the cyphers at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards, West Coast rapper Symba dropped off a blazing freestyle that caught many people’s attention. In one of his bars, Symba called out social media celebrity and model Brittany Renner for taking the spotlight away from Breonna Taylor’s murder at the hands of law enforcement.

On Thursday (October 7), Renner took to Twitter to speak on Symba using her name in the cypher. The infamous Instagram celebrity was not happy with the inclusion and tried to son Symba for using her name for his quick brush with fame.

“A little ironic to mention me in your 40 seconds of fame but fire nonetheless,” Renner wrote on her retweet of Symba’s post sharing a snippet of the cypher.

Symba got the upper hand on Renner when he went to Instagram and reposted her tweet with a caption that read “#SayHerName.”

The line that got Brittany Renner upset was, “Y’all be putting groupies on a pedestal by doing favors/That’s how these Brittany Renner’s stole attention from Breonna Taylor/Yea so say her name say her name/It’s the least I can do with these 40 seconds of fame.”

Brittany Renner has made headlines for her wild antics with other men. She was recently in the middle of an ugly child custody battle with her estranged husband NBA Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Washington. People on social media alleged Renner trapped Washington by having his baby especially when she stopped associating with him following the birth of their son.

Symba wasn’t the only one catching slack for his contributions to the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards. BIA was dragged all over social media for her lackluster performance during the show’s telecast last Tuesday (October 5). Critics were annoyed by how unprepared BIA looked on stage even when Lil Jon tried to help out.

BIA saw the criticisms and handled the trolls gracefully on Twitter saying, “One thing about me… I’m always gonna stay grateful, and perfect my craft. Thanks for the constructive criticism! I take it all in and come back harder next time.”
