Crazy Legs, legendary b-boy and proud Puerto Rican, has announced a fundraiser for his home country after it was ravaged by Hurricane Fiona.

Crazy Legs shared a flyer for the event to his Instagram account on Sunday (September 25) revealing the event will take place at the Chelsea Music Hall in New York City on Tuesday (September 27).

DJ Envy, Statik Selektah, DJ Clue, CJ, Mr. Freeze and Nems are just a handful of the notable names who are rallying together in support of the cause.

“@puertorocksteady present a special fundraiser for the victims of #hurricanefiona,” he wrote in the caption. “It’s happening on Tuesday, September 27 at @chelseamusichall . 407 W 15th Street. 6PM-11PM. Admission is $30 and will go 100% towards our relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

Crazy Legs spoke to HipHopDX about the importance of delivering aid to the citizens of Puerto Rico, saying, “Currently, we’re assessing the on the ground situation multiple times a day. Making sure that I arrive with the supplies most necessary for our missions is key to our success.

“We’re focused on solar lights, grants for farmers, water filtration systems, tents and other supplies for people who have lost their homes.”

Hurricane Fiona strengthened to a Category 4 storm on Wednesday (September 21) as it headed toward Bermuda after decimating the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, where the storm left most people without power and up to eight dead. Originally making landfall in Puerto Rico last Sunday, Fiona caused devastating flooding and landslides on the island.

The 56-year-old later shared an Instagram video of what many Puerto Ricans are experiencing, recording the initial few seconds in pitch black. His goal is to collect enough portable, batter-powered lights to help Puerto Rican families survive.

“This will be difference in the lives of the families of people waiting for power to be turned back on in #PuertoRico,” he explained in the caption. “Please support and help to make a difference for those impacted by #hurricanefiona Thank you.

“They have to arrive by Tuesday, September 27th. If you can’t find the one we are suggesting, please try to find something comparable.”

Crazy Legs also launched a GoFundMe to further assist the Puerto Rican people. As he explained in the description: “Hurricane Fiona is causing damage to Puerto Rico that will last for quite a while. If we move fast enough, we can immediately impact how long it will have on the people of Puerto Rico. I’m reaching out to friends and the entertainment industry to help with the on-the-ground efforts in Puerto Rico.

After working on past disaster situations in Puerto Rico, I feel that we can put together the right team and be on the ground within the next week and a half with supplies for those impacted. As with any disaster or humanitarian effort, we will need your support through donations. If you can’t donate, please spread the word and pass this information on to someone else.”
