Eminem unleashed an animated lyric video for the Music To Be Murdered By track “Tone Deaf” on Friday (March 5), shortly after several Gen Z’ers tried to “cancel” him on TikTok for his controversial “Love The Way You Lie” lyrics. Once millennials caught wind of the attempt though, it was an all-out social media war as those raised on Slim Shady came to his defense.
Now, Shady fans are propelling a theory about the video itself. On Saturday (March 6), an Eminem fan Twitter account pointed out a building in the visual that has a dog’s face with a red slash through it and suggested it was a sub aimed at Snoop Dogg.
The two Hip Hop titans were involved in a lightweight “beef” earlier this year, which the D-O-Double-G suggested was blown out of proportion. But apparently, Shady fans aren’t so sure.

It all started in July 2020 when Snoop appeared on an episode of The Breakfast Club. During the conversation, he casually claimed the diamond-selling rapper wasn’t in his Top 10.
“[Dr. Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position to where he could be one of the Top 10 rappers ever,” he said at the time. “I donât think so, but the game feels like heâs Top 10 lyricists and all that that comes with it. But thatâs just because heâs with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find.â
In retaliation, Em threw a slight jab in Snoop’s direction on the MTBMB: Side B track “Zeus” in which he raps, “As far as squashing beef Iâm used to people knocking me/But just not in my camp/And diplomatic as Iâm tryinâ to be/Last thing I need is Snoop dogginâ me/Man, Dogg, you was like a damn god to me/Meh, not really (haha)/I had dog backwards.â
Although Snoop deemed the line “soft ass shit,” the situation never escalated, which was likely a relief to KXNG Crooked who feared the situation could’ve evolved into the “most polarizing beef ever in Hip Hop.”
Shady explained why Snoop’s initial commentary bothered him during a special New Yearâs Eve interview with SiriusXM host Gray Rizzy.
âEverything he said, by the way, was fine, up to a point,â Em said. âHim saying Iâm not in his Top 10 because there are some rappers in the â90s I canât fuck with. A: Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that? Would I be here without Dre? Fuck no, I wouldnât. The rappers he mentioned from the â90s â KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, [Kool] G Rap â Iâve never said I could fuck with them. I never said that.â
He added, “I think it was more about the tone he was using that caught me off-guard âcause Iâm like, where is this coming from? I just saw you, what the fuck? It threw me for a loop. Again, I probably couldâve gotten past the whole tone and everything, but it was the last statement where he said, âFar as music I can live without, I can live without that shit.â Now youâre being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard. I wasnât ready for that.â
