Los Angeles, California – Former Bad Boy rapper Loon linked up with an old friend over the weekend after spending eight years behind bars. On Sunday (September 20), the Harlem native posted smiling photos of him reuniting with Diddy at his home in Los Angeles, California.
The reconnection has been a long time coming due to a fallout between them over the years. Despite their past issues, Loon is evidently putting it all behind him out of the brotherly love they have for each other.
“Everything is not what it seems,” Loon wrote on Instagram. “After all that we’ve been through the love cannot be denied. We’ve travelled the world together, made millions together and at times we may not have always agreed, but by Allah, if I hadn’t experienced the things that we went through, I wouldn’t have become the man that I am today!”

Loon, who changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith after converting to Islam, was released from prison in July. He was arrested in Belgium for trafficking heroin in 2011. A year later, he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin.
The now 45-year-old was sentenced to 14 years with four years supervised release, but U.S. District Judge Terrence Boyle granted an early release due to the coronavirus pandemic, stating it was an “extraordinary and compelling reason” and he wasn’t considered a danger to society.
Following his freedom, Diddy commented on a post on The Shade Room’s Instagram account telling Loon to reach out to him.
“God is great,” he said. “Welcome home. Get at me King. Love.”

In August, Loon appeared on The Breakfast Club for a virtual interview with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God, where he talked how things went wrong with Diddy.
“My relationship with Puff, we had great fun and we got along swell,” he said, “But then some of the hiccups would come down to business. Especially business that’s already mandated and confirmed.”
Loon said he’d received messages from Diddy, but properly reuniting “would be a whole new space for us.”
Loon is best known for his verses on Diddy’s “I Need a Girl (Part One)” and “I Need a Girl (Part Two),” which reached No. 2 and No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, respectively. His biggest solo hit was 2003’s “Down for Me” featuring Mario Winans, which peaked at No. 24, before leaving the Bad Boy label in 2004.
Since his prison release, Loon has also linked up with the likes of Fabolous, Mike Epps and, most recently, Dame Dash last week. Loon posted photos with the Hip Hop mogul on Instagram and teased a future project.
“Real Harlem Politics,” he wrote. “I know you wish you could be a fly on the wall. Just know it’s about something big.”
