Ice-T Says He’s ‘Done Explaining L.A. Gang Culture’ Following PnB Rock’s Death

Ice-T has said he’s done elaborating on Los Angeles gang culture in the wake of PnB Rock’s fatal shooting.

The Philadelphia rapper passed away on Monday (September 12) after he was fatally shot while dining at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles. He was 30 years old.

While the rap world mourned the untimely loss of yet another young rapper, Ice-T reaffirmed that L.A. gang culture is “not a game.”

“I’m done explaining LA Gang culture,” he tweeted. “MFs will not listen. It’s not a game.. At all.”

Ice-T has previously warned young rappers to be wary when visiting his hometown. In the wake of Kodak Black getting shot outside of Justin Bieber’s West Hollywood after party back in February, the Law & Order: SVU star reminded Super Bowl LVI attendees that L.A. is “The Wild Wild West.”

“SuperBowlWeekend: Not a Threat, just a Warning,” Ice-T wrote on Twitter. “Young Rappers coming to LA for the Super Bowl weekend. LA has over 50Thousand ACTIVE Gang Members. Make sure you play it SAFE. It’s the Wild Wild West.”

PnB Rock (real name Rakim Allen) was with his girlfriend at the time of the shooting. Los Angeles Police Department Captain Kelly Muniz told the Los Angeles Times that when the suspected shooters entered Roscoe’s, they immediately pulled out a firearm and demanded jewelry from the rapper.

“He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot,” Muniz said.

Investigators are currently sifting through security footage from inside the restaurant to hopefully identify a suspect. They also are checking with surrounding businesses for any additional footage.

Tributes to PnB Rock have been pouring in from across the Hip Hop landscape. Nicki Minaj mourned the loss of her former collaborator, but also noted it was poor judgment from Rock’s girlfriend to share their location online ahead of the shooting.

PnB Rock Detailed Encounter With L.A. Gang Members Days Before His Death

“After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????!” she wrote on her Instagram. “He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus. #SIP #PnbRock.”

However, Cardi B noted it was unlikely that the suspects were looking at Rock’s girlfriend’s social media.

“I highly doubt nikkas was looking at PMB’s babymom IG,” she tweeted. “He was in a bad location and people stay outside plotting. It’s very irresponsible and inconsiderate to blame her for something so tragic. We should be sending nothing but love to her and his family at this time.”

Drake, Offset, Quavo, Meek Mill, YG, Kodak Black, Tee Grizzley, 2 Chainz, G Herbo, Fabolous and Pusha T also mourned PnB Rock’s passing on Monday.
