Joe Budden recently interviewed Ray J for an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory & Mal and decided to inquire about his sister Brandy’s relationship status. As Ray J was getting ready to hang up the phone, Budden came in with, “Real quick, this is my last question. Is Brandy single?”
Everyone started laughing, but Budden remained steadfast. “I would love to go out with her,” he added. “I just told you I love Brandy. I might need to pull up. Please tell her for me. Please send my love to your entire family.”
Now, Brandy has explained why that would absolutely be a no-go. While speaking to Power 106FM, the tenured R&B singer was asked if she’d ever date Budden despite Ray J being a friend of his to which she said, “No ’cause my homies brothers are like my homies, my friends, so no.”

Ray J is currently embroiled in relationship drama of his own. In May, his wife Princess Love reportedly filed for divorce. The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood personality filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court after roughly four years of marriage. The couple has two children together.
Meanwhile, Brandy briefly dated the late Kobe Bryant in 1996 and was once romantically linked to Boyz II Men singer Wanya Morris who she called her “first love.” Around 2001, she got involved with producer Robert Smith and had a daughter, but they split shortly after her birth. Other romantic interests over the years included Flo Rida and music executive Ryan Press, her former fiancé.
Budden’s love life has been internet fodder over the past few weeks. He was accused of domestic abuse by both Tahiry Jose and ex-fiancée Cyn Santana. He is apparently single.
