Moneybagg Yo Celebrates Getting Real Name Off Music Choice – Even Though Google Exists

The ‘Gram – For fans who know Moneybagg Yo’s music well, the Memphis gangsta rap star looks to steer himself away from police in every way possible. But Music Choice made Moneybagg Yo feel like it’s the feds telling his government name on its TV channel.

On Tuesday (May 4), DJ Akademiks re-posted a video clip of Moneybagg Yo on Instagram getting heated about Music Choice revealing his real name in its “Did You Know?” sidebar while playing his hit single “Time Today.” The song is from his fourth studio album A Gangsta’s Pain, which currently sits in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

“Did you know? Moneybagg Yo’s real name is Demario Dewayne White Jr.,” the music channel’s hidden fact sidebar read as the track played.

“Police as hell,” Moneybagg said in reaction to seeing his birth name on the TV screen. “What the fuck wrong with y’all, Music Choice? Appreciate the love but damn! Talking about, did y’all know his real name?”

Music Choice clearly heard Moneybagg Yo’s cries and has since removed it from its programming. Subsequently, Moneybagg Yo showed his gratitude for the gesture via Instagram on Wednesday (May 5).

“@musicchoice making it right I fuck wit em we locked in,” he wrote on Instagram Live.

The music service also sent him multiple direct messages on Instagram about taking his birth name down off the channel.

“Just a heads up — we got you and we took this fact down,” Music Choice said to Moneybagg Yo. After he thanked them again, Music Choice added two more direct messages that said, “Got you!!!” and “Happy to add other facts if you wanna send them over” with a laughing emoji.

“It’s all love,” Moneybagg Yo replied.
