Posted by Miami, FL – Pretty Ricky rapper Baby Blue is reportedly still in the hospital after being shot during an attempted robbery at a Miami bowling alley.
But early Thursday morning (April 22), the veteran artist updated his fans on his condition, tweeting, “Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I’m still in ICU but I’m on the road to recovery. The bullet traveled through my [lungs] is in stuck in my back. I have to learn to breathe & walk again. I have a great medical team here at the hospital. God Got Me.”

According to TMZ, Baby Blue’s brother and fellow Pretty Ricky member Spectacular Smith said he was attempting to grab the gun from the suspect in an effort to shield his cousin from getting shot. Instead, Baby Blue wound up with a significant gunshot wound. As Baby Blue mentioned in his tweet, the bullet pierced his lung and is still inside his body. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only his mother and father have been allowed to see him.

Shortly after the incident, Hollywood Unlocked shared a graphic video of Baby Blue lying on the Sparez Bowling Alley floor as his cousin screamed for help. In an Instagram DM from his team, Baby Blue was praised for his courage.
“Attempted robbery fails after VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Miami reality star Baby Blue Whoaaaa of Pretty Ricky shuts down 2 armed men!” the message reads. “Courageous rapper was shot and left in critical condition fighting for his life in Miami hospital!”
The two male suspects fled after the shooting and police have yet to identify any suspects as of publication time.
