Rick Ross Explains What Happened To That Ronald Isley-Featured Record He Teased For 'Richer Than I Ever Been'

Los Angeles, CA – Rick Ross has collaborated with several artists throughout his lengthy career, but there’s one feature he recently acquired that people are wondering when it’ll come out. In September, the Biggest Boss revealed the soul music legend Ronald Isley will show up on his upcoming Richer Than I Ever Been.

However, when Ross dropped the official tracklist for his eleventh studio album, Mr. Isley’s name was missing from the rest of the pack. In an interview with Questlove earlier this week, Ross hinted the feature would land on “Maybach Music VII,” and it turns out fans will be getting the record very soon.

The Maybach Music Group CEO confirmed the news during his conversation with Billboard Hip Hop editor Carl Lamarre at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California.

“We finally got in touch, and I got to send over some production I felt was ready for that ‘Maybach Music VII,’” Ross revealed during the talk. “We got the wordplay put down, and Ronald Isley did an amazing job and took it to the next level. It was all about the production that I needed more time with.”

With six entries in his beloved Maybach Music series, there has to be one that Ross loves. That’s seemingly not the case for him, as he also explained he doesn’t have a clear favorite out of the seven.

“It’s not even about having a right or wrong answer,” Ross said about the song series. “It comes down to what day of the week it is. It’s easy for me to say where it all began and me think back to me and JAY-Z cooking up ‘Maybach Music’ and just the memory, the concept, the idea of what it represents, it’s hard to go against that and then we went to two and three and four and the collaborations that came about. It really boils down to what vibe I’m in straight up.”
