Tory Lanez Launches 'Protect Black Men' Petition In Response To 'Cancel Kanye West' Coachella Campaign

Kanye West has already been suspended from Instagram and pulled from the 2022 Grammy Awards’ performance lineup due to his recent social media behavior, but things could get even worse for the Chicago rap icon.

A Change.org petition calling for Kanye’s removal from Coachella 2022 — which he’s set to headline alongside Billie Eilish, Harry Styles and Swedish House Mafia in April — has garnered over 35,000 signatures since being launched last week.

The petition, which is aiming to reach 50,000 supporters, is seeking to dish out further punishment to Kanye for his repeated public attacks on his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, her new boyfriend Pete Davidson and others.

“We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now,” the petition reads. “No one seems to want to stand up to him, and the ones that do, he puts under fire as well. Most recently, he has been threatening actual bodily harm on others.

“This is ridiculous that he is allowed to freely do this. Coachella (along with other brand names that are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be giving him any more of a platform.”

One person who won’t be signing the petition, however, is Tory Lanez. On Tuesday (March 22), the Toronto-bred rapper launched a Change.org campaign of his own in an effort to “protect Black men” from “cancel culture.”

“We are watching the industry and fake cancel culture remove all of our legendary black men , black celebrities and black moguls …..from festivals , from our culture and from our lives,” Tory wrote. “And it starts with us …. we must make a change .. so we can keep our black men thriving.

“We stood for equal rights of black men 2 years ago with GEORGE FLOYD .. what changed from ‘then to now’ in regards of the protection of BLACK MEN … don’t let them use our personal life situations to make fake stories that have been misconstrued to hinder and taint our legacies.”

He added, “STAND FOR US … WE ARE THE BACK BONE OF CULTURE . If we lose this fight we lose the HEAD of the same culture that we have known and loved and OWNED for the last 2000 years … the BLACK MAN NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED . The first step is PROTECTING OUR CULTURE !! HELP US.”

Tory Lanez’s petition has so far amassed over 500 signatures as of press time, with an initial goal of hitting 1,000 signatures. Kanye West recently shouted out the Alone At Prom rapper on Instagram for supporting him amid his parental dispute with Kim Kardashian.

“So I called different people I knew and the best advice I got right now was from Tory Lanez,” Ye said. “He said to pray and ask for God to speak through me.”

Tory Lanez is no stranger to controversy himself having been accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an altercation in July 2020. The federal assault case went to trial in February and is set to resume in April.

Tory continues to maintain his innocence — but not without being embroiled in a public feud with Megan and her boyfriend Pardison Fontaine.
