Washington, D.C. – Not only does Pusha T hold his fellow Virginia native Pharrell in high regard, but so does multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rapper Tyler, The Creator.
On Sunday (June 19), Tyler joined forces with 21 Savage and Skateboard P to perform their new “Cash In Cash Out” banger at the second annual Something In The Water festival in Washington, D.C. Before the trio left the stage, Tyler took a moment to give Pharrell his flowers, remarking on his belief that the Neptunes hitmaker is the producer’s producer no matter the era.
“Trying to be all, ‘Ooooh,’ down to earth, n-gga stop it!” he started off. “You are the greatest of all time. The innovation, the execution, but if ni-ggas want to talk numbers, the numbers speak for themselves too.”
Tyler continued, expressing his admiration and loyalty to Pharrell while also commanding the crowd to give it up to the N.E.R.D legend for reviving his music festival brainchild following the pandemic and the death of his cousin Donovan Lynch, who lost his life as the result of a fatal officer-involved shooting last year.
“I love you, I’m forever indebted to you, forever in debt to you, thank you for your existence,” he gushed. “And please give it up to this man for putting this whole thing together. We appreciate you.”

A similar scene occurred earlier this month during Pusha T’s sold-out It’s Almost Dry Tour date in Los Angeles on June 4 when the Clipse MC welcomed his longtime collaborator and mentor Pharrell to the stage and thanked him for his guidance throughout his 20-year career — which just reached new heights thanks to his first Billboard 200 No. 1.
“Without Pharrell, there is no It’s Almost Dry,” he said. “He brought a whole different dynamic to my album, man. I love you, bro, for everything, always. You brought me in this game, you taught me everything! Everything! Clothes, dressing, what you want? You did it. Real shit, no lie.”
Additional highlights from Something In The Water Festival include Tyler, The Creator jumping into the crowd to vibe out with festival-goers to Kendrick Lamar’s Pharrell-produced “Mr. Morale” and the reunion of Pusha T and his brother Malice as the Clipse for the first time in over a decade.
