Olivia Rodrigo delivered a surprise performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, treating the audience to an unexpected collaboration with Robert Smith of The Cure. The two artists, who previously shared the stage during Rodrigo’s headline set at Glastonbury, have maintained a creative connection that has now culminated in new music.
The pair’s relationship has evolved significantly since their initial meeting, with Rodrigo noting in recent interviews that Smith has become a trusted mentor, offering guidance on navigating the complexities of the music industry. This bond is now reflected in their collaborative work, as the duo took to the stage to perform the live debut of their new track, ‘what’s wrong with me’.

Addressing the crowd, an emotional Rodrigo remarked, “It’s really special to me for so many reasons… primarily because it’s my first collaboration. I can’t believe this song exists and with the person that it exists with.”
With Robert Smith having already performed at the festival with The Cure, his appearance during Rodrigo’s set provided a highlight for the Primavera audience. The track is set to feature on Rodrigo’s upcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which is scheduled for release on June 12th.
