Young Thug's Hilarious Reaction To Watching Man Eat Bug Goes Viral

Young Thug‘s eccentric personality has made him a favorite on the internet, whether it’s changing his name to “SEX,” birthing a computer troubleshooting meme with Lil Durk or hitting up Elon Musk for help with making Slime City (that’s right, he’s building his own city) solar powered.

The Atlanta rapper’s antics made the rounds on social media once again this week thanks to his cameo on HBO’s Chillin Island. Executive produced by Uncut Gems director Josh Safdie, the six-part survival series follows Alec “Despot” Reinstein, Ashok “Dap” Kondabolu, Aleksey “Lakutis” Weintraub and famous musical guests as they explore “the edge of nature.”

For Young Thug, that meant watching Lakutis eat a bug while out in the desert — a sight that prompted a disgusted yet hilarious reaction from the Punk rapper. “Boy, you nasty! What the fuck type of n-gga is you?!” he exclaimed in the viral clip. “N-gga, what the fuck type of n-gga is you?!”

Young Thug is hardly a stranger to exotic creatures, though. He keeps a flock of pets including snakes, a tarantula and a Bengal cat in his studio, while just recently he delivered a virtual reality concert featuring a giant digital tarantula.

Chillin Island , which made its debut on December 17, also features fellow Atlanta rappers Lil Yachty, Gunna and Killer Mike, as well as Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Tecca, Coi Leray, Rosalía and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koening.

“For the TV show, [the goal is] just to humanize these larger-than-life personalities and be like, ‘Here’s Young Thug sitting on a sand dune, talking about how he’d rather be a gorilla than a bird,’” Despot told NYLON. “That’s what I want to hear from these people. Not like, ‘Have you been to jail before?’”

Young Thug may not be enjoying his latest viral moment as much as everyone else, though. Earlier this year, he admitted social media makes him depressed.

“Bro, I just noticed like when I look at the Internet, when I look at Instagram and like you know Twitter and shit, I get depressed bro,” he confessed. “This shit is like burnt the fuck out, bro. This shit depressing.”
