Posted by Fulton County, GA – Gunna will remain behind bars at least for the foreseeable future. According to reporter Jewel Wicker, a Fulton County judge denied Gunna — born Sergio Kitchens — bond on Monday (May 23) and set his trial for January 2023.
“I was just in court where a judge denied bond for Gunna and set his trial date for Jan. 9, 2023,” she wrote on Twitter. “Prosecutors allege YSL is a gang, not just a record label. They also alleged Gunna serves in a ‘command’ role.”

Gunna is currently facing one count of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Prosecutors allege that the “Pushin P” rapper is a “documented gang member” and he and Young Thug were calling shots for YSL.
The judge explained he denied Gunna’s bond because of worries over potential witness tampering. Wicker adds Gunna’s attorney can file for a renewed bond in the future.
“Mr. Sergio Kitchens, known as Gunna, is innocent,” Gunna’s legal team told TMZ. “The indictment falsely portrays his music as part of a criminal conspiracy. Mr. Kitchens has been an advocate for his community, and it is our privilege to advocate for him.”

Gunna and Young Thug were arrested earlier this month alongside 26 other YSL associates as part of an 88-page indictment. The 56-count indictment includes charges of violating the RICO Act, murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and more.
