Roddy Ricch and Ella Mai have released a savage new music video for their latest collaboration, “How” — check it out above.
Taken from Mai’s most recent album, Heart on My Sleeve, the track has now been given a Colin Tiley-directed visual that sees the UK singer unhappy in her relationship. To fix the situation, the Mai calls upon her cohorts Roddy Ricch and Mustard to devise a plan to get rid of her partner.
The video turns things up a notch when Roddy hands Ella Mai a vile of liquid that she ends up putting into her lover’s meal. At the dinner table, her partner falls out of his chair gasping for breath, with Ella Mai cracking a slight grin across her face.

“When I first started recording my album Heart On My Sleeve, I told Mustard that I had to have Roddy as one of the features,” Mai said in a statement. “We made it happen, and ‘How’ was born! It’s one of my favorite tracks on the album where I had the pleasure of collaborating with two incredible artists in their own right, and I’m really excited to share the visuals with the world.
She added: “It was also an honor to have the legendary Colin Tiley direct another video for me. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!”
In addition to assisting Ella Mai in getting rid of her fictional lover, Roddy Ricch is prepping a new project soon to be released in the future. Last month, the Compton native took to his socials to tease The Big 3 EP and hinted at three new songs locked and loaded in the chamber titled “Real Talk,” “Tootsies” and “No Mop.”
Roddy hasn’t revealed a release date yet, but he’s looking to make waves with the project. It’s the first batch of music since his 2021 sophomore effort Live Life Fast, which featured appearances from 21 Savage, Bibi Bourelly, Alex Isley, Future, Fivio Foreign, Jamie Foxx, Gunna, Kodak Black, Takeoff, Lil Baby and Ty Dolla Sign. The project debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and earned 62,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
