Alicia Andrews, the woman found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the killing of rapper Foolio, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. The sentencing took place on Friday, May 22, 2026, in a Tampa, Fla., courtroom.
During the proceedings, Andrews saw her motion to appeal the conviction denied by Judge Kimberly Fernandez. Following the dismissal of the appeal, the judge handed down the 15-year sentence. Addressing the defense’s claims regarding potential errors by the previous judge, Judge Fernandez stated, “After having reviewed all of the defense’s assertions as to the defense’s argument as to errors made by my predecessor judge, I’m going to place on the record that I would not have ruled any differently.”
The sentencing was preceded by a powerful victim impact statement from Foolio’s mother, Sandrikas Mays. “My son was hunted, followed and ultimately murdered in what authorities described as a coordinated plot involving multiple individuals,” Mays told the court. “It is extremely painful to hear Alicia Andrews portray herself as someone who didn’t know what was going on. They could have turned around, but they still carried on the plan to hunt my son down like a deer in the woods…My son’s life mattered. He was not disposable.”
The case remains a significant point of interest in the hip-hop community. Four other individuals—Sean Gathright, Isaiah Chance, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy—were also found guilty by a jury on May 8. While the jury declined to impose the death penalty in those cases, they are currently awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for June 22.
