The Strokes have officially teamed up with actor Walton Goggins for their latest music video, ‘Going Shopping.’ The track serves as a highlight from the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album, ‘Reality Awaits,’ which is scheduled for release via RCA Records on July 24th.

‘Reality Awaits’ arrives as a sharp, compelling slice of 80s-adjacent new wave. The record masterfully merges the band’s penchant for early MTV-era studio experimentation with the effortless, signature NYC cool that has defined their career for decades.

For the visual accompaniment, the band opted to pay homage to Paul Simon’s iconic video for ‘You Can Call Me Al.’ In a move that initially seemed like a long-shot, The Strokes reached out to Walton Goggins to recreate the spirit of Chevy Chase’s legendary performance. To the band’s surprise, Goggins accepted the invitation.

Because Goggins was already on location in the Canary Islands, the band made the decision to fly out to meet him, ultimately convening in Tenerife to complete the shoot. Steered by director Johann Rashid, the resulting video captures a unique creative synergy between the musicians and the actor.
