50 Cent is currently facing a civil lawsuit filed by a former long-time employee, Monique Mayers, who alleges a pattern of retaliation, harassment, and witness intimidation. Mayers, who served as a senior operations executive for 12 years across the mogul’s business ventures, including G-Unit Film & Television, claims her 2019 termination was a direct result of her refusal to participate in illegal and fraudulent activities.
According to the complaint, the conflict dates back to 50 Cent’s 2015 Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Mayers alleges that she was pressured to hide property in her own name to conceal the rapper’s connection to certain transactions. Furthermore, she claims she was asked to file a false police report against the rapper’s driver and bodyguard, Bajar Walters, accusing him of stealing a vehicle and a significant sum of cash.
Mayers asserts that her refusal to comply with these demands led to her eventual firing in 2019. Beyond the termination, she alleges that 50 Cent orchestrated a campaign of intimidation, which included causing Forbes to retract a feature article about her career. The lawsuit further claims that between 2019 and April 2026, Mayers was subjected to over 80 incidents of harassment via phone calls and text messages from various anonymous numbers.
“Curtis Jackson has cultivated a public persona as ’50 Cent’ built on highly publicized feuds and attacks on former associates, but as alleged in the complaint, this conduct is not performance, and it has real-world consequences,” stated Bennitta Joseph, Mayers’ attorney. “Mr. Jackson’s actions have caused serious harm to personal and professional lives and, in Ms. Mayers’ case, created a sustained and credible fear for her safety.”
In response, 50 Cent’s legal counsel, Reena Jain, has vehemently denied the allegations, characterizing the lawsuit as a “baseless” stunt. “Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and his representatives categorically and strenuously deny the baseless allegations made in a recent civil complaint filed by Monique Mayers – a former employee terminated for cause on or about March 27, 2019,” the statement read. The defense further argued that the claims are an opportunistic attempt to secure a payout, noting that Mayers has retained counsel currently involved in separate litigation against the rapper.
The defense also maintained that 50 Cent has consistently taken threats against his staff seriously and that his legal team had previously encouraged Mayers to report any harassment to law enforcement. The rapper’s representatives stated they look forward to a swift dismissal of the case in court.
Mayers is seeking a jury trial, a permanent injunction against further harassment, and undisclosed damages.
